AJ Table lamp has a fixture head with a distinct asymmetrical shape, which determines the light characteristics of the fixture. The fixture head is tiltable. The base of the floor lamp has a hole, originally made to accommodate an ashtray. Without the ashtray, however, the hole adds elegance and lightness to the design. The unique quality of its design idiom has made these fixtures modern classics.

Born 11th of February, 1902 Copenhagen (Denmark) – 24th of March, 1971
Copenhagen (Denmark)

Danish architect and designer, Arne Jacobsen was one of the most important representatives of functionalism in the 1930s and 1950s, working in Copenhagen as a city planner, architect and designer. Most recently, he has been credited with being the most important Danish architect and designer of the twentieth century.

Elegant, boimorphic forms charaterise his chair designs, an aesthetic that is best seen in the three-legged Ant chair, more than five million of which have been produced since its design in 1951, making it one of the most successful chairs in the history of furniture design.
