The Barcelona Stool was developed for the German pavilion of the world exhibition in Barcelona, 1929.

Opulent, yet imparting a Modern appearance, the chair´s from was based on the "sella curulis", a Roman magistrate`s stool The frame made of cold rolled bar stock steel that is then triple chrome plated.

The leathers are full grain aniline hides. Squares are individually cut and sewn.

Born in 27th of March, 1886 Aachen (Germany) – died 19th of August, 1969 Chicago illinois United States.

Along with Le Corbusier and Frank Lloyd Wright, Ludwig Mies van der Rohe is seen as one of the twentieth-centuries tree most influential architects. His strict adherence to the modern movement, laid down in some fundamental rules of beauty in design, resulted in his claissic, and famous, Barcelona Chair (1929).

In 1929, Mies van der Rohe designed one of his most famous buildings, the German pavilion at the World Exhibition in Barcelona. Athough a temporary structure, the Barcelona pavilion has become one of the most influential buildngs in history.
