Pioneered the use of extruded tubular steel in furniture design.

Marcel Breuer showed a great interest in modular construction and simple forms he is one of the fathers of Modernism. Breuer became one of the first apprentices to join the new furniture workshop at the Bauhaus in the summer of 1921.

Hes first tubular-metal chair was the 1925 B3 chair (later renamed the Wassily, after the Bauhaus teacher Wassily Kandinsky)

One of the leading figures of the modern movement, the lasting appeal of Breuer's work is testament to his masterful grasp of aesthetic, manufacturing an production method.
